Learning Disability & Exam Accommodations Evaluations

Get started

Understand how you learn. Get documentation that opens doors.

Some people spend their whole academic lives being told to just try harder, when effort was never the problem. Reading that takes three times as long as it should, math that stops making sense, writing that can't keep up with thinking, test scores that have never once reflected what you actually know. An evaluation answers two questions at once: what's actually going on, and what supports and accommodations follow from it. We evaluate dyslexia and reading disorders, dyscalculia, written expression disorders, and the processing-speed and working-memory weaknesses that quietly undermine timed work,  including the overlap with ADHD and anxiety (Adult ADHD, Child ADHD & Autism). Children 6+, students, and adults.

For students and families

School evaluations answer the school's question on the school's timeline. A private evaluation answers yours: specific diagnosis, a map of strengths and weaknesses, and recommendations usable in 504/IEP meetings, with tutors, and at home. For college-bound students, an evaluation can support SAT/ACT accommodations, college disability services, and the adult transition in one package.

For adults and professionals: Documentation that holds up

Testing agencies (SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT, USMLE, NCLEX, bar exams, and professional boards) don't grant accommodations on a diagnosis alone. They require evidence of impairment, its history, current functional impact, standardized data, and a rationale linking each requested accommodation to a documented limitation. Applications fail on documentation quality far more often than on merit. Dr. Clark's evaluations are built to those standards: current adult-normed cognitive and achievement testing, validity assessment, record review, and a detailed report. Much of the process can run by telehealth in PSYPACT states, with in-person testing in a single day.

Frequently asked questions

Can adults be diagnosed for the first time? Yes. Many capable adults compensated for years until law school, medical training, or a licensing exam outpaced their ability to compensate. Old report cards, prior testing, and your own account all help reconstruct the history.
My child already has a school evaluation. Do we need this? Sometimes no, and we'll say so. Private evaluation adds the most when the school found no eligibility but the struggle is real, when a diagnosis (not just eligibility) is needed, or when the picture is mixed.
Is extended time worth applying for? For someone with a documented limitation, timed tests measure the disability instead of the knowledge. Accommodations don't lower the bar; they let the exam measure what it is supposed to measure.

Stop working around it. Start working with it.
