Neuropsychological evaluations can assist in diagnosing brain disorders, including dementia, determining cognitive and behavioral functioning, and planning treatment.
The First Step to Get Answers
Whether you've experienced a traumatic brain injury, suspect a possible cognitive decline, or have children experiencing academic or behavioral challenges, a neuropsychological evaluation can help you get the answers you need.
Neuropsychological testing is critical for clarifying diagnosis, understanding how a condition specifically affects thinking and behavior, and providing treatment recommendations for the future. If you are struggling with health concerns, seeking answers early on can be crucial for your recovery. The longer you wait, the greater the chances of symptoms worsening. |
Together we can better understand what you are going through and gather critical information for a successful treatment plan.

How Neuropsychological Testing Can Help?
A neuropsychological evaluation can help you face health issues with more confidence, regain control over your life, and successfully reintegrate into work and everyday life.
Clarify diagnosisTest results can explain a change in thinking and behavioral function, add valuable information to previous diagnoses, and clarify the impact of certain conditions. If you've experienced a neurological event or injury, such as a stroke or traumatic brain injury, it can help identify changes in specific cognitive functions and assess the extent of those changes.
This level of information often goes beyond what standard neurological or physical examinations, such as CT scans or MRIs, can offer. That's why a neurological evaluation can be highly valuable in reaching a diagnosis and guiding your healthcare provider through an effective treatment plan for you. |
Serve as baselineAn assessment can help compare and evaluate the evolution of your symptoms and whether your functioning has declined or improved.
They are also valuable for assessing your cognitive abilities after a surgical intervention, demonstrating how well you’re recovering from a stroke or traumatic brain injury and whether or not you’re ready to return to work, resume driving, or take on other duties. |
Plan next stepsTest results are useful to identify cognitive abilities that require rehabilitation and highlight potential strengths that will be valuable to the recovery process.
This evaluation will help you, your family, and your healthcare providers make informed decisions regarding adjustments to your everyday life, school, or work and determine priority areas to focus on throughout your recovery. |
What to Expect During an Evaluation
We'll start with a thorough interview to assess your current state and review your medical, psychological, and social history. You may be asked to bring a family member or friend who can provide additional information to the interview.
After the initial interview, you will be given a series of standardized tests that best suit your specific situation. These tests typically involve oral questions, paper and pencil, computers, the manipulation of materials such as blocks and puzzles, and other procedures. After we analyze all of the information and integrate it into a comprehensive report, we will meet again for a follow-up appointment. We will go over the results together and share our recommendations for further examination and treatment plan. |
